Data Processing Notifications

Did you know?: Approximately $12 billion worth of personal information is protected under the California Consumer Privacy Act each year.

Some compliance frameworks or privacy regulations such as the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) and GDPR require you to notify customers before collecting any data. This generally includes stating specific information about what data is being processed and why. It also needs to be presented prominently in a format that’s easy to understand and at the point of collection. Some privacy regulations require explicit consent from the end user.

A privacy policy might satisfy this need, but there are nuances. Talk to your Privacy leader to know the specifics of your organization.

If you’re collecting information via chat, you may need to present this at the beginning of the chat. While you can find workarounds for this, these workarounds may create friction and hinder customer experience. The simplest way it to utilize the terms and conditions section of Rescue, which lets you both:

    1. enter your own terms and
    2. require a user to scroll to the bottom and accept them.

Since this process is already baked into the existing join flow, customizing it to your needs is seamless.
