Enabling IP Access Restrictions

What are IP Restrictions and Why are they Important?

IP restrictions, also known as IP whitelisting or blacklisting, allows you to specify exactly which IP addresses can or cannot access a particular resource. This provides an extra layer of security to help ensure that only authorized users can access sensitive resources, much like another authentication factor.

With IP restrictions in place, even if a malicious actor were to compromise your MFA and login credentials, that would not be enough to access your account.

IP Restrictions in Rescue

By default, Rescue users can access all Rescue components from any IP address. You can grant or deny access to all Rescue components, including the Rescue Administration Center and Technician Console, according to specified IP address ranges.

For even more stringent control, you can also request that we set up IP restrictions on the back end, so no one at your organization can change the restrictions via self-service.
